Kimberley

Called the Bavarian City of the Rockies, Kimberley is a city rich with history. Nestled beneath North Star Mountain in the East Kootenays, Kimberley was named in 1896 after the famous South African diamond mine. An authentic western mining town, Kimberley's primary employer was Cominco, who ran the Sullivan Mine (and related mines) for the better part of this century.

One of B.C.'s premier four-season mountain destinations, the city of Kimberley bustles with cafes, shops, restaurants, pubs and recreational services. The home of the fourth largest ski resort in British Columbia(Kimberley Alpine Resort), boasting over 1,800 acres of skiing across two mountains, golf courses, including the Kimberley Municipal Golf Course, Trickle Creek Golf Course, Bootleg Gap and St Eugene's Mission just a few minutes away.

Summer activities around Kimberley include amazing hiking trails, golfing and mini golfing as well as taking advantage of the numerous hiking and biking trails in the area. and in the winter, residents and visitors to Kimberley enjoy spectacular cross-country, downhill skiing and snowboarding.
